Women's Volleyball Slated to Finish First in AMCC Preseason Poll

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's volleyball team earned the top spot in the 2023 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll, announced on Tuesday.

The Lions are slated to finish first after placing second in the AMCC Championships in 2022. Behrend tallied an overall record of 15-14 and a 5-2 mark in conference play a year ago.  The Alfred State Pioneers were selected to finish second, while Mt. Aloysius and Pitt-Bradford tied for third.

Senior outside hitter Hannah Phillips (Pittsburgh, PA/North Allegheny) was named the AMCC Preseason Player of the Year. She was selected the conference's Co-Player of the Year last season. Phillips ranked first in the AMCC in kills per set (3.45), total kills (359) and points per set (3.9), while ranking sixth in attack percentage (.227).
