ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's volleyball team will host the 2023 Behrend Invitational in the Junker Center on Friday and Saturday, September 8 and 9. The Lions will face Fredonia in their home opener on Friday at 3:30 p.m.

* The Lions are coming off a 3-0 weekend at the Morrisville Invitational
* Behrend defeated Widener, Geneva and Morrisville State by a score of 3-1
* Libero Sarah Nobach (Athens, MI/Athens) averaged 4.67 digs in three matches, registering a season-best 22 digs vs. Widener
* Nobach tallied two 20+ dig matches, while adding six aces and five assists
* Hannah Phillips (Pittsburgh, PA/North Allegheny), the AMCC Preseason Player of the Year, had a pair of double-doubles on Saturday
* Phillips' best performance was 22 digs and 15 kills in the win over the Golden Tornadoes
* Breana Reynolds (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) matched her career-high in kills in all three matches this weekend, averaging 3.25 kills per set
* Reynolds registered 13 kills and hit .380, while also adding six total blocks
* Senior setter Meg Goodsel (Corry, PA/Corry) has started the season with 8.17 assists per set, while Ava Miller (Sheffield, Village, OH/Brookside) has 12 service aces to her credit
* The Lions were picked to finish first in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) preseason poll under new head coach Ryan Laing
* Behrend and Westminster are the only two undefeated teams in this tournament
