ERIE, Pa. – The No. 2 Penn State Behrend women's volleyball team will face No. 3 Alfred State in the semifinals of the 2023 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Championships on Saturday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. hosted by the top-seed Penn State Altoona.

No. 2 Penn State Behrend News & Notes:
* The Lions were named AMCC Co-Regular Season Champions along with Penn State Altoona, registering an 8-1 conference record
* Behrend has advanced to the AMCC Tournament every year except two (2016, 2020 - covid) since the inception of the conference in 1997
* The Lions are competing for their seventh overall championship
* Behrend enters the playoffs on a seven-match winning streak
* Last Saturday, Behrend secured the No. 2 seed for the playoffs and a first-round bye with a 3-0 win against LaRoche on Saturday
* During the regular season, the Lions defeated Alfred State, 3-1
* Behrend and the Pioneers met in the AMCC title match last year

* Alfred State enters the semifinal match with a 17-8 record
* The Pioneers defeated No. 6 Mt. Aloysius in the first round, 3-1
* Alfred State is the reigning AMCC Champion
* The Pioneers had two career highs from Caitlyn Gilman and Alayna Tomlinson in the win over the Mounties
* Gilman had a career-high 13 kills and Tomlinson had a career-best 20 digs
* Racquel Gerstenberger is second in the AMCC in kills (338), kills per set (3.67) and service aces per set (0.68)
