Behrend Athletics Finishes 92nd in Final Learfield Directors' Cup Standings

ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Behrend Athletics capped a successful year with its second-best finish in the Learfield Sports Directors' Cup, placing 92nd out of 327 teams ranked in the final standings.

The Lions, AMCC Presidents' Cup award winners, earned 199 points for scoring in seven of the maximum 18 sports. Behrend's previous best finish was 69th place in 2013-14. The Lions tallied 50 points in the fall, scoring in women's soccer and women's volleyball. Behrend added 49 points after the winter for men's indoor track and field, before collecting 100 points in the spring thanks to softball, men's tennis, men's volleyball and men's outdoor track and field.

The banner season for Behrend was highlighted by eight Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Championships, five All-Americans and eight Players of the Year.  

The Lions broke the Top 100 for the second time to lead the AMCC, followed by Medaille (T-221), Mt. Aloysius (T-240) and Penn State Altoona (T-279).

The Learfield Sports Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institutions finish in up to 18 sports – nine women's and nine men's.
