D3baseball.com Preseason All-Americans
ERIE, Pa. – Senior third baseman Matt Bittner (Lancaster, NY/St. Mary’s) has been named a Preseason Honorable Mention All-American by D3baseball.com.
Bittner had a remarkable junior season. He was named First-Team All-Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC), American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) First-Team Mid-Atlantic Region, First-Team Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) South Region All-Star, and Second-Team ABCA All-American.
Bittner led the team in hits (63), doubles (20), triples (5), home runs (6), and RBIs (52). He also posted a team-best .681 slugging percentage and tied for the team lead in batting average at .387.
The Lions will begin the season on March 2nd at Maryville. Game one of the doubleheader is set for 1 p.m.
