ERIE, Pa. – Senior baseball player Vinny Rice (Harmony, PA/Seneca Valley) has been named to the D3baseball.com Third-Team All-Mideast Region, announced on Monday.
Rice had an excellent final season for the Lions (30-12). The first baseman was second on the team with a .378 batting average. Rice tallied 45 hits, 26 RBIs, 20 runs, 19 walks, and eight doubles, all career highs. He started in 40 games while helping Behrend reach the NCAA Tournament for the fourth time in program history. Rice also played outstanding defense in the field, committing only three errors while setting the single-season record for putouts with 317.
In addition to being named All-Region, Rice earned First-Team All-Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) accolades.
