ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend baseball team won the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Championship on Saturday and earned a bid to the NCAA Tournament for the fourth time in program history.

The Lions (30-10) will travel to Terre Haute, Indiana for the NCAA Mideast Regional hosted by Rose-Hulman to play two-time defending National Champion Marietta (29-12) in their opening game at 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday.

Behrend won three games in the AMCC Championship Tournament after outscoring their opponents by a combined total of 29-10.  The Lions defeated Pitt-Greensburg 9-3, Mount Aloysius 11-2, and La Roche 9-5 in the championship game.  The AMCC Championship marked the fifth time in program history that the Lions have won the title.

The Lions will be making their first trip to the NCAA Tournament since 2010.  Behrend holds a 2-6 all-time record in the tournament with both wins coming in 2010.  The Lions will be guaranteed at least two games.  The winner of the Behrend/Marietta game will face the winner of the Wooster/Thomas More contest on Thursday at 7:45 p.m.  The losers of those two games will face each other at 1:15 p.m. on Thursday.
