ERIE, Pa. - The Penn State Behrend baseball team split an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) doubleheader against Pitt-Bradford Monday afternoon.

Game One: Pitt-Bradford 4, Penn State Behrend 1 (7 inn.)
Records: Pitt-Bradford (10-17, 3-4 AMCC), Penn State Behrend (16-8, 4-3 AMCC)

Key Moments:

* The Lions and Panthers were knotted up at one apiece after four innings of play
* Pitt-Bradford broke the tie with an RBI walk from Noah Avey
* The Panthers extended their lead with two more runs in the top of the seventh
* Starting pitcher Shawn Mannering worked out of jams in the third and fourth innings, but went the distance and earned his fourth win of the year on the hill for Pitt-Bradford
* Behrend's starter Colin Bolla (Fairview, PA/Fairview) tossed six innings, giving up one earned run and striking out five batters. Will Jamison (Shaler, PA/Shaler) threw a scorless top of the seventh in relief
* Dylan Barnes (Pittsburgh, PA/North Hills) and Anthony Slate (Hopewell, PA/Hopewell) each finished with two hits for the Lions

Game Two: Penn State Behrend 16, Pitt-Bradford 3 (7 inn.)
Records: Penn State Behrend (17-8, 5-3 AMCC), Pitt-Bradford (10-18, 3-5 AMCC)

Key Moments:

* The Lions capitalized on four Pitt-Bradford errors in the first three innings, scoring 12 unearned runs, nine of which were plated in the first inning
* Daniel Boehme (Peters Township, PA/Seton LaSalle) and Slate delivered RBI doubles, while Barnes recorded an RBI single in the bottom of the first for Behrend
* Another RBI double from Boehme and a pair of RBI singles from Slate and Palmer tallied three more runs for the Lions in the bottom of the third
* Freshman David Gibson (North East, PA/North East) recorded an RBI single in the fourth inning, which would be the first earned run given up by a Panthers pitcher in game two
* Pitt-Bradford took advantage of a two-run throwing error by Behrend in the top of the fifth to plate its first runs of the second game
* In the bottom of the fifth, Chase Palmer (Brookville, PA/Brookville) hit his second home run of the year, a two-run blast over the left field wall
* Silvio Ionadi (Pittsburgh, PA/Plum) capped off Behrend's 16-3 victory with an RBI triple
* Barnes, Slate, and Palmer each finished with a game-high three hits, while Palmer led the way with four runs batted in
* In his first collegiate start, freshman Jake Manendo (Erie, PA/Mercyhurst Prep) pitched four scoreless innings, allowing only three hits and striking out five to notch his third win of the year
* Senior Jeff Zick (Moon, PA/Our Lady of Sacred Heart) earned the three inning save to go along with two strikeouts. This was first save of the season for Zick
