Lions Searching for Fourth Straight Championship

ERIE, Pa. - The Penn State Behrend men's cross country team is searching for their fourth straight AMCC title and eighth overall this Saturday at Franciscan. The Lions were victorious earlier this season when they traveled to Franciscan taking first in the invitational on September 6.

The Lions have had a successful season earning one victory, finishing second at the Behrend Invitational and placing seventh out of 36 teams at the Dickinson Invitational.

Depth has been key for the squad with four different runners leading Behrend this season. Junior Devin Beggs, (Franklin, PA/Franklin) sophomore Jake DeWeese, (Freedom, PA/Freedom Area) freshman Jacob Parsons (Titusville, PA/Maplewood) and freshman Dylan Buffington (Brookville, PA/Brookville) all have top finishes and garnered AMCC Athlete of the Week honors this season.

The Lions are second all-time in AMCC championships, trailing only former member school Frostburg State. In total, Behrend has won seven conference championships and won six of the last seven AMCC championships.

The championship will kick off Saturday at 11:00 on the campus of Franciscan in Steubenville, OH.
