Behrend Track and Field Heads to CSAC Championships

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's and women's track and field team will head to Alfred, N.Y. for the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Championships hosted by Alfred State beginning on Saturday and concluding on Sunday.

Men's News & Notes:

* The Lions currently have top-5 marks in the conference in 19 events
* Behrend holds the top seed in seven events headed into the weekend
* Eric Stehlik (Northport, NY/Northport) ranks second in the 100m, 200m and 400m
* From first-to-fourth, Phoenix Myers (Erie, PA/Seneca), Kody Klein (North East, PA/Cathedral Prep), Nick Temel (Conneaut Lake, PA/Conneaut Area) and Aidan Domencic (Cranberry Twp., PA/Seneca Valley) hold the top-4 seeds in the 1500m
* Samuel Hetrick (New Bethlehem, PA/Redbank Valley) and Braeden Smith (Erie, PA/Seneca) rank first and second in the high jump, respectively
* Hetrick is currently tied in all of NCAA Division III with a 2.08m mark
* Dan Dabrowski (Harborcreek, PA/Harborcreek) is 20th in Division III in the discus, hitting an AARTFC-qualifying mark on April 24 (48.81m)

* Behrend has 15 events with at least one athlete ranked in the CSAC top-5
* Ivy Laffan (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) holds the top time in the 100m, 200m and the 400m
* Olivia Nola (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy) ranks first in the 800m, 1500m and the 5000m
* Madison Kappeler (Cecil, PA/Canon-McMillan) leads the CSAC with a 3.10m mark in the pole vault
* Maria Campbell (Erie, PA/Villa Maria Academy) enters with the second-best mark in the pole vault with a 2.92m
* Caroline Upham (Erie, PA/Iroquois) registered the third-best high jump this year among conference competitors, entering with a season-high 1.55m
* Savannah Carr (Franklin, PA/Franklin) and Megan Swanter (Saxonburg, PA/Knoch) are top-2 in the conference in the steeplechase
