ERIE, Pa – Penn State Behrend had four athletes named Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Athletes of the Week. Men's cross country's Dylan Buffington (Brookeville, PA/Brookville, Ryan Thorsen (Bethel Park, PA/Bethel Park) of the men's soccer team, women's swimmer Maryn Horn (Houston, TX/Jersey Village), and men's swimmer Nick Kost (Ashburn, VA/Stone Bridge).

Buffington set a new school record for fastest race with a time of 24:22.3. He kept a mile pace of 5:02 which helped him finish 30th out of 383 runners. The Rowan Inter-Regional Boarder Clash hosted 10 nationally ranked teams, as well as a number of nationally ranked runners.

Thorsen's defensive play helped the Lions record three wins last week. He led the Behrend in two 5-0 shutouts and a conference win against Franciscan in the AMCC Game of the Week. Along with his shutdown defense, he recorded assists on both Behrend goals against the Barons on Saturday.

Both Horn and Kost were a part of four winning relays this weekend at Pitt-Bradford.
