Lions Claim 16th AMCC Presidents Cup

ERIE, Pa. – For the 13th consecutive year, Penn State Behrend was crowned the Presidents Cup Champions presented by the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) after a successful 2016-17 season. The Lions earned the honor for the most outstanding overall athletics program in the conference 16 out of 17 years the award has existed.

Behrend captured nine conference championships (women's soccer, men's soccer women's cross country, men's cross country, women's tennis, men's golf, men's swimming and diving, women's swimming and diving, softball) and finished runner up in men's tennis and baseball. The Lions earned 105.3 points out of a possible 121 in 15 of the 16 sports sponsored by the AMCC to accumulate a .870 winning percentage.

La Roche was the runner up with .643 winning percentage (68.75 points out of a possible 107) in part to winning the women's basketball and baseball championships. Penn State Altoona, who accumulated a .633 percentage, won the men's volleyball title.
