Conley Signs With Professional Basketball Team in Slovakia

ERIE, Pa. – Former Penn State Behrend center standout Russ Conley (Transfer, PA/Reynolds) will continue his basketball career with Povaska Bystrica, a professional men's basketball team in Povaska, Slovakia.

Conley is the second Behrend basketball player to take his talents overseas and play professionally. Mike Powell '81 was the first Lion to play internationally with a team in Peru after graduation.

Conley was a two-time Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Player of the Year and All-Great Lakes Region choice. He was also a three-time All-Conference selection, earning first-team honors his final two years.

Last season, Conley led Behrend in scoring (19.4), rebounding (7.9), field-goal percentage (59.7) and blocks (1.2) per game. He also led the conference in scoring and field-goal percentage, while becoming the program's all-time leading scorer with 1,771 points.
