Women's Tennis Pulls Out Victory Over Malone, 5-4

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's tennis team needed to win four out of the six singles matches to get a 5-4 victory against Malone and they did just that. The Lions took two singles matches to three games and sent a third into extra sets for the close win.

Hilary Lasher and Leslie Durante took Kaley Kahoun and Marie Konstan to extra sets at No. 2 doubles, pulling off a 9-8 win to make it 2-1 Malone after the doubles competition.

Durante proved to be the only one who had an easy time in singles play. She won 6-1, 6-0 at the No. 4 spot. Jade Buhite went into extra sets in each game and was victorious over Stephanie Prasnal, 7-5, 7-6.

Arica Christman and Stephanie Cattron came away with three-game wins at No.  1 and 2 singles, respectively. Christman lost the first game 4-6 and bounced back to narrowly win 7-6, 7-6 for the point. Cattron did the same thing and fell 2-6, but recovered for a 6-1, 7-6 decision.

Behrend returns to action on May 24-29 at the NCAA Division III Tournament in Claremont, California.
