Lions Fall to Luther in NCAA Tournament

CHICAGO, Ill. – The Luther women's tennis team swept the doubles competition and won two singles matches to defeat Penn State Behrend 5-0 in the first round of the NCAA Championships at the Universit of Chicago.

Playing inside due to weather conditions, the match was surrendered at the time Luther was declared the winner with five points.  Luther only lost six set points in five matches and won the No. 2 and No. 5 singles to advance to the second round of the tournament. The three remaining singles matches were recorded as unfinished.

In their first-ever NCAA appearance, Stephanie Cattron and Allison Quigley were able to play the entire singles match. Cattron lost 6-1, 6-2 to Alana Humpal and Cassandra Chalhoub defeated Quigley 6-1, 6-1.
