Women's Volleyball Hosts Mt. Aloysius in AMCC First Round

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's volleyball team clinched the No. 3 seed for the upcoming Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Tournament and will host No. 6 Mt. Aloysius for a first-round game on Wednesday at 7 p.m.

The Lions (16-11) have advanced to the AMCC Tournament every year except one (2016-17) since the inception of the conference in 1997. Behrend is looking for its fourth overall championship for the program. The Lions last won the AMCC crown in 2013.

The other first-round game features No. 5 D'Youville at No. 4 La Roche. The winner of Behrend/Mt. Aloysius will travel to No. 1 Penn State Altoona and play the No. 2 Pitt-Bradford Panthers in the semifinals on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. Penn State Altoona and Pitt-Bradford received a bye in the first round, securing a spot in the semifinals.

The title game is slated for Sunday at 1 p.m. The champion will earn the AMCC's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

The Lions defeated Mt. Aloysius 3-0 on Saturday during the regular season (25-23, 25-20, 25-15). Hannah Saunders (Elizabeth, PA/Elizabeth Forward) posted a double-double with 32 assists and 11 digs.
