Lions Travel to Franciscan in Search of AMCC Title

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's cross country team will compete to win their third straight AMCC championship Saturday at Franciscan. Last season the Lions captured their second straight conference title, placing five out of the top six runners.

Behrend has two third-place finishes this season, but continues to get better and grow as a team every week. The Lions have showed strong resolve to improve which will give them momentum to claim the conference crown.

Three different runners have paced Behrend this season. Jamie Szramowski (Pittsburgh, PA/Oakland Catholic), Katie Manno (Erie, PA/McDowell) and Miranda Boatman (Bellefonte, PA/Bellefonte) have all posted strong performances throughout the season.

The Lions best performance as a team this season came the last time they visited Franciscan on September 6. Behrend placed third out of eight teams, finishing with a team score of 102. Boatman led the Lions with a 15th place finish.

Franciscan hosts the championship event this Saturday. The start time is slated for 11 a.m.
