ERIE, Pa. – Ryan Kragnes led the Penn State Behrend baseball team to a 3-1 record to pick up the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference's (AMCC) Player of the Week, while Ryan Jacobs pitched a 6-0 shutout against conference opponent Mount Aloysius, Sunday to earn the AMCC's Pitcher of the Week honors.
Kragnes batted .571 going 8-for-14 from the plate with two doubles. The sophomore center fielder recorded four runs, three RBIs and swiped five bags in as many attempts while earning the conferences weekly award for most outstanding athlete.
Jacobs threw for all seven innings in the 6-0 decision, giving up three hits and two walks. The sophomore hurler struck out seven of the Mounties batters, improving to a 3-1 pitching record.
The Lions have moved their scheduled Tuesday, April 4 matchup at Pitt-Bradford to Thursday, April 6 at 1 p.m. due to inclement weather.
