ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Behrend men's track and field athlete Dylan Buffington (Brookville, PA/Brookville) has been named Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III South Rookie of the Week.

Competing at the Cortland Classic Invitational this past weekend, Buffington set a new school record in the 800m dash with a time of 1:54.64. The time qualified for ECAC's and was good enough for second place in the event. He also ran a leg on the 4x800m relay squad that qualified for ECAC's and took first place with a time of 7:58.73. Buffington added another second place finish in the 1,500m run with a mark of 4:03.28.

The men's track and field team will return to action Saturday when they host the Penn State Behrend Invitational. Events will kick-off at 10 a.m.
