Frye, Saunders Named to All-AMCC Women's Volleyball Team

ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Behrend junior outside hitter Rachel Frye (Leechburg, PA/Kiski Area) and junior setter Hannah Saunders (Elizabeth, PA/Elizabeth Forward) have been named to the 2016 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) women's volleyball team.

Frye earned her first All-Conference honor on the first team, while Saunders was named to the second team after earning third-team accolades a year ago.

Frye led the team and ranked fourth in the AMCC in kills (300) and was fifth in the conference in kills per set (2.78). She tallied double-digit kills in 12 matches, including a season-high 21 against D'Youville. Frye also added 96 digs, 27 blocks and 14 aces this season.

Saunders led the team and ranked second in the conference in total assists with 848. She also was third in the AMCC in assists per set (7.85). Saunders ranked first on the squad in blocks (59) and service aces (26), while sitting second in digs (273). She posted 11 double-doubles for assists and digs. Saunders recorded a career-high 55 assists against D'Youville and registered a season-best 23 digs against Washington College.
