Darrell, Young Named to CWPA All-Conference Team

ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Behrend women's water polo sophomore driver Nic Darrell (Perkasie, PA/Pennridge) and senior utility player Shannon Young (Roseville, CA/Roseville) have been named to The Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) All-Conference Team, announced on Thursday.

Darrell is making her first All-CWPA appearance as a First-Team selection, while Young lands on the second team for her second All-Conference accolades in her career.

Darrell broke the season steals record this with 98 in 19 games played. She was named Co-Defensive Player of the Week for tying a 19-year old program record for most steals in a game (10) and then she broke it the following week with 11 vs. Wittenberg. Darrell is second on the team in goals and assists with 35 apiece. She also has 12 drawn kickouts and 14 field blocks.

Young leads the team in goals with 38, while adding 25 steals and 18 assists. She also has nine drawn kickouts. The senior registered her 100 career goals this season. Young has 12 games with multiple goals, including two games where she tallied a season-high four goals.

The Lions return to action tomorrow at the CWPA Division III Championships. The Lions take on Carthage at 12 p.m.
