Behrend Men's Volleyball Voted First in AMCC Coaches' Preseason Poll; Jackson Co-Player of the Year

ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Behrend senior setter Alex Jackson (Cochranton, PA/Cochranton) has been selected the 2024 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Men's Volleyball Co-Preseason Player of the Year, while the Lions were chosen to finish first in the Preseason Coaches Poll.

Jackson was an All-Conference First Team selection last season, helping the Behrend Lions advance to the AMCC Championship match and take runners up in ECAC Championships. He was also selected to the AMCC All-Tournament Team. Jackson led the AMCC in total assists (845) and ranked second in assists per set (8.45).

Behrend finished the 2023 season with a 19-9 overall record and a 12-1 mark in the AMCC. The Lions also return senior middle hitter Owen Wienczkowski (Waterford, PA/Ft. LeBoeuf). Wienczkowski was an AMCC First Team selection in 2023 and led the conference in attack percentage (.328) and blocks/set (.90).
