Behrend Men's Volleyball Falls to Mt. Union in Three

ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Mt. Union men's volleyball team posted a 3-0 win over Penn State Behrend in non-conference action on Wednesday night.

Score: Mt. Union 3, Penn State Behrend 0 (27-25, 25-6, 25-16)
Records:  Penn State Behrend (5-11), Mt. Union (6-5)

Key Moments:

* The Purple Raiders hit .389 in the three sets thanks in part to Jacob Nussdorfer going 13-for-17 with no errors
* In the opening set, Mt. Union tallied 21 kills yet the Lions committed two attack errors and recorded 14 kills
* Behrend went on a 7-2 run to tie the game at 21-all in the first set
* The Lions had set point three times but the Purple Raiders won the final three points behind three straight kills including two from Will Heeney for a 1-0 lead
* Mt. Union pulled away to a double-digit lead in the second and finished with a 25-16 win for a two-set advantage
* The third set was much like the second, matching the score at 25-16
* Daniel Easly (Erie, PA/McDowell) led with nine kills and added five digs
Alex Jackson (Cochranton, PA/Cochranton) handed out 19 assists and recorded six kills with two blocks
* Kyle Hoffman (Carlton, PA/Cochranton) had a team-best six digs and five kills
