Behrend Men's Volleyball Falls Twice in Home Opener

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's volleyball team fell to No. 5 St. John Fisher 3-0 and to No. 19 Baldwin Wallace 3-2 in non-conference action in the Junker Center on Saturday.

Key Moments:

* The Lions rallied from two sets down to win the next two sets and force a decisive fifth
* Behrend won 25-20 and then held the Yellow Jackets to five kills in the third while getting a set-high 11 kills to win the fourth, 25-11
* Baldwin Wallace held a slight lead for most of the fifth set, hitting .389 on eight kills and 18 attempts
* Behrend got within one at 12-11, but the Yellow Jackets used two kills and an ace to seal the match
* As a team, the Lions had season-high 12 bocks including four solo and 16 assisted
* Daniel Easly (Erie, PA/McDowell) led with 11 kills, nine digs and four blocks
* Joshua Elegeer (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) had a team-best 14 digs and added five assists
* Alex Jackson (Cochranton, PA/Cochranton) recorded 34 assists, five kills and four digs
* Owen Wienczkowski (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBeouf) posted nine kills and six blocks
* There was a total of 16 ties and three lead changes in the entire match

* The Lions were within five points or less in each set
* St. John Fisher registered 46 kills with a match-high 19 in the second set
* The Cardinals held a slight advantage in digs, 39-37
* Elegeer had eight digs in the first set alone and finished with 13 digs
* Kyle Hoffman (Carlton, PA/Cochranton) and Lewis Rhodes (Reston, VA/South Lakes) combined for 10 blocks assists
* Hoffman tallied six kills and five digs to go with his blocks
* Jackson added 17 assists to finish with 51 helpers on the day
