Behrend Men's Volleyball Takes Geneva in Four

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's volleyball team tallied a 3-1 win over Geneva in a non-conference match on Friday night. 

Score: Penn State Behrend 3, Geneva 1 (22-25, 25-20, 25-20, 25-19)
Records: Penn State Behrend (2-8), Genevea (9-6)

Key Moments:

* The Lions won three unanswered sets to collect their second win of the season
* Behrend hit a season-best .360 on the night, holding a 53-41 advantage in kills
* The Lions and the Tomcats were tied 22-all in the first set
* Thiel captialized on a service error and then followed that with a kill and ace to take 1-0 lead
* Behrend had a five-point lead early in the second set and then won by five points to knot the match at 1-all
* A service ace by Joshua Elegeer (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) and two kills in the final few points helped the Lions take the lead at 2-1 with a 25-20 win
* Logan Hering (North East, PA/North East) and Owen Wienczkowski (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBeouf) tallied a block for the final point in the fourth to seal the win
* Wienczkowski hit .682 with 16 kills on 22 attempts with one error
* Hering had a season-best 13 kills and added eight digs
* Kyle Hoffman (Carlton, PA/Cochranton) posted his first double-double of the season with a team-best 12 digs and 10 kills 
Alex Jackson (Cochranton, PA/Cochranton) contributed 42 assists, six kills and five digs in the four sets 
* Elegeer finished with double-digit digs at 11
