Behrend Men's Volleyball Downs Geneva; Lions Fall to No. 17 Nazareth

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's volleyball team split a pair of matches in the Junker Center on Saturday. The Lions defeated Geneva 3-0 and fell to No. 17 Nazareth, 3-0.

Match One:

Penn State Behrend 3, Geneva 0 (25-16, 25-21, 25-19)
Records: Penn State Behrend (8-11, 3-1 AMCC), Geneva (14-11, 3-1 AMCC)

Key Moments:

* Behrend handed Geneva its first conference loss in the AMCC Game of the Week
* This is the second win over the Golden Tornadoes this season
* The Lions held a 40-25 advantage in kills, knocking down 17 in the third set
* Kyle Hoffman (Carlton, PA/Cochranton) led with 11 kills while adding three digs, three blocks assists and three assists
* Joshua Elegeer (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) and Alex Jackson (Cochranton, PA/Cochranton) each had nine digs and six kills

* The match featured 19 ties and eight lead changes
* Nazareth got ahold of the first set and built a 10-point lead for a 25-14 finish
* The Lions and Golden Flyers were tied 19-all in the second set, before Nazareth won the final six out of seven points for a 25-20 decision
* In a close third set, Behrend had a 23-21 lead
* The Golden Flyers rallied to tie the game three times and ten won the final two points on consecutive kills
* Three players have five kills for the Lions
* Daniel Easly (Erie, PA/McDowell) led with nine digs
