Behrend Men's Volleyball Falls at Thiel in AMCC Opener

GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's volleyball team opened Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) action on the road, falling to Thiel 3-1 on Wednesday night. 

Score: Thiel 3, Penn State Behrend 1 (18-25, 26-24, 25-22, 25-19)
Records: Thiel (6-8, 1-0 AMCC), Penn State Behrend (3-10, 0-1 AMCC)

Key Moments:

* Behrend held a 56-41 advantage in kills and 75-65 edge in digs
* The Tomcats forced the Lions to 31 attack errors while the Lions committed 18 service errors
* Behrend had three players with double-digit kills led by Owen Wienczkowski (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBeouf)
* Wienczkowski had 13 kills, four blocks and three digs
* Alex Jackson (Cochranton, PA/Cochranton) had a double-double with 38 assists and 12 kills
* Jackson was three digs away from a triple-double, registering seven
* Logan Hering (North East, PA/North East) was one kill shot of a double-double
* Hering tallied nine kills and then tied Luke Mumpower (North Huntingdon, PA/Norwin) with 15 digs
* Kyle Hoffman (Carlton, PA/Cochranton) posted 12 kills and eight digs
* In the first set, the Lions doubled their lead from three points to six with two points left for set point
* At 23-17, Behrend got a kill from Cameron Schleicher (Meadville, PA/Meadville) and then won on an error at 25-18
* Thiel won three unanswered sets, including one in extra points for the conference win
* Josh Elegeer (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) recorded 10 digs, six kills and five assists
