Lions Blank Pitt-Greensburg in AMCC Opener
GREENSBURG, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's soccer team opened up Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) play by blanking Pitt-Greensburg 3-0 on Saturday afternoon.

Olivia Belack (Upper St. Clair, PA/Upper St. Clair) and Jordan Trama (Pittsburgh, PA/North Hills) had a hand in two of the three goals scored to get the Lions (5-4, 1-0 AMCC) back on the winning ways. Belack tallied two goals and Trama assisted on a pair, while Jordan Oberlander (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) tallied her team-leading 11th goal of the season.

Behrend held a 24-2 shot advantage, firing 11 shots in the first half and 13 in the second while the stingy defense only allowed a few shots by the Bobcats (5-2-1, 0-1-1 AMCC).

All three goals for the Lions were scored in the first half and within a nine-minute span. Belack struck first with a shot from 30-yards out to beat goalie Shannon Edwards on the short side for a 1-0 lead in the 13th minute.

Less than two minutes later, Oberlander received a pass from across the top of the box from Trama and then hit the post and down in the goal for a 2-0 lead at the 14:49 mark.

After a pair of corner kicks and then two header shots by Oberlander in the next three minutes, Belack scored her second goal of the game at 21:28 for a commanding 3-0 lead.

Ania Gorski (Harborcreek, PA/Harbor Creek) tallied her second shutout and fifth win of the season without having to make a save.

Behrend returns to action on Tuesday against D'Youville. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
