Women's Soccer Keeps Unblemished AMCC Record

ERIE, Pa. – Jordan Oberlander (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) scored two second-half goals to lead Penn State Behrend past La Roche 2-0 in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) action on Saturday.

Three seniors with their hands in each goal to help the Lions (13-4, 8-0 AMCC) close out the final regular-season home game with a victory and extend their winning streak to nine straight contests.

Oberlander came into the game tied for the single-season points record with teammate senior Olivia Belack (Upper St. Clair, PA/Upper St. Clair). With her first goal of the game in the 53rd minute, Oberlander set a new record with currently having 57 points (26 g, 5a).

Belack was on the other end of Oberlander's game winner at the 52:00 mark. She sent a parallel ball into the box for Oberlander, who blasted a shot so hard Isabelle Orange could not keep her hands on after the original save for a 1-0 lead.

The insurance goal was added in the 65th minute. Oberlander buried a shot into the side panel after gathering a pass from Amanda Donohue (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley).

Both teams would take shots in the first half that was saved by their respective goalkeeper's to only then hit the top of the post and bounce back into play.

Ania Gorski (Harborcreek, PA/Harbor Creek) preserved the shut out with three saves.

Behrend returns to action on Tuesday at Medaille. Game time is 2 p.m.
