Women's Soccer Offense Too Much For D'Youville

ERIE, Pa. – Jordan Oberlander (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) netted a hat trick and Olivia Belack (Upper St. Clair, PA/Upper St. Clair) added a pair of goals to lift Penn State Behrend women's soccer past D'Youville in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) action on Tuesday night.

The Lions (6-4, 2-0 AMCC) scored three goals in each half to post their largest margin of victory and second straight conference shutout. Oberlander also added an assist, while Rachel Weyand (Butler, PA/Butler) tallied two assists and Amanda Donohue (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) registered her fourth goal of the season.

Oberlander recorded her second hat trick of the season in the first half alone. The senior posted a pair of goals within 1:33 apart from each other. Oberlander made it 1-0 with a header goal off a corner kick from Weyand at the 13:42 mark and then buried the first penalty kick of the season for Behrend at 15:15 for a 2-0 lead.

In the 23rd minute, Oberlander netted her third goal with a breakaway goal off a through pass from Cassidy Ulanowicz (Gibsonia, PA/Pine-Richland).

Belack picked up where Oberlander left off in the second half, recording her pair of goals 2:14 apart for a quick 5-0 advantage. Oberlander found Belack with a through ball in the 49th minute and then Weyand sent a pass across the middle in the 51st minute, putting the ball at Belack's feet for a shot that hit the back of the netting and just below the post.

Belack also hit the post with a blasted shot in the first half.

Donohue concluded the scoring with less than 15 minutes in the game, firing a shot from nearly 30-yards out for the final 6-0 margin.

Ania Gorski (Harborcreek, PA/Harbor Creek) tallied her third shutout and sixth win of the season one save.

Behrend returns to action on Saturday against Mt. Aloysius. Game time is 3:30 p.m.
