First-Half Scoring Leads Women’s Soccer Past Medaille

BUFFALO, NY - The Penn State Behrend women's soccer team scored seven first-half goals to defeat Medaille 8-1 in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) action on Tuesday afternoon.

Jordan Oberlander (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) and Olivia Belack (Upper St. Clair, PA/Upper St. Clair) each scored a pair of goals for the Lions (14-4, 9-0 AMCC), who finished the regular season undefeated in conference play.

Cassidy Ulanowicz (Gibsonia, PA/Pine-Richland) added four points with two assists and one goal in the win.

All but one goal was scored in the first half, netting the first three goals in just over two minutes from one another. Oberlander struck first at the 13:28 mark, followed by the eventual game winner from Belack at 14:41.

Emily Scaletta (Mars, PA/Mars) and Jordan Trama (Pittsburgh, PA/North Hills) combined for the third goal one-minute later for a quick 3-0 lead.

The goals kept coming for Behrend, and Oberlander registered her 28th goal of the season for a comfortable 4-0 lead.

The Lions held a 38-3 shot advantage, with the Mavericks getting a goal on one of those shots in the 89th minute.

Behrend will host the AMCC semifinals on Wednesday, November 1. Time and opponent to be determined.
