Women's Soccer Clinches No. 1 Seed For AMCC Playoffs

BRADFORD, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's soccer team scored two unanswered goals in the second half to erase a 1-0 deficit and defeat Pitt-Bradford 2-1 in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) action on Wednesday.

With the win, the Lions (12-4, 7-0 AMCC) clinched the No. 1 seed and earned a first-round bye for the upcoming conference playoffs. Amanda Donohue (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) scored the game-winning goal while Emily Scaletta (Mars, PA/Mars) tallied her first goal of the season.

Jordan Oberlander (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) assisted Scaletta's goal to give her 53 points on the season and tie the single-season record set by teammate Olivia Belack (Upper St. Clair, PA/Upper St. Clair) last year.

The Panthers (8-7-1, 3-3-1) struck first with 4:14 left to play in the first half. Grace Dadzaa finished a ball from Abby Celesky in the 41st minute to take a 1-0 lead into halftime.

The Pitt-Bradford lead did not last long thanks to Scaletta. Oberlander played her the ball for the equalilzer in the 52nd minute.

Less than 10 minutes later, Donohue blasted a shot from 25-yards out into the far corner seventh goal and third game winner this season.

Ania Gorski (Harborcreek, PA/Harbor Creek) made four saves for her 12th win.

Behrend returns to action on Saturday against La Roche. Senior day starts at 3:15 p.m.
