ERIE, Pa. – The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) office released its preseason poll for the 2021-22 men's basketball season on Wednesday naming Kenny Fukon (Cranberry Twp., PA/Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic) the Preseason Player of the Year and predicting a second-place finish for Penn State Behrend.
Fukon was named the team's Most Valuable Player in 2019-20 after leading the team in scoring with 467 points while ranking fifth in the AMCC with a scoring average of 16.7 points per game. During the Lions last official season, he was a First Team All-Conference selection and shot 39.8% from beyond the arc and handed out 81 assists. Lastly, his mark of 37 steals in 2019-20 was seventh in the conference.
As a team, the Lions are projected to finish second in the AMCC only trailing La Roche, the defending AMCC Champions.
