Men's Basketball Takes on Manhattanville in ECAC Quarterfinals

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's basketball team heads to Newark, NJ for the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Tournament, hosted by Rutgers Newark. The Lions will open the quarterfinals against Manhattanville College on Friday for a 5 p.m. tipoff.

Behrend News & Notes: 

* The Behrend Lions were selected for the ECAC Tournament following an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Semifinals loss to Medaille
* This will be the second-consecutive ECAC appearance for the Lions and their 17th overall
* Behrend was eliminated in the first round of the tournament in 2020 against Westminster (95-94), a matchup that needed three overtimes to decide a victor
* Kenny Fukon (Cranberry Twp., PA/Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic) was named AMCC Co-Player of the Year on Tuesday
* Fukon leads the Lions in scoring with an average of 17.3 points per game
* Fukon was also named a first team All-Conference selection along with PJ Gourley (Butler, PA/Knoch)
* Gourley was named as one of the best in the AMCC following a year in which he led Behrend in double-doubles (7), games with 10+ points (20), games with 20+ points (8) and total rebounds (184)

Manhattanville News & Notes:

* The Valiants clinched a spot in the Skyline Conference Finals for the first time since 2009
* Manhattanville was held to their lowest offensive total of the season during their title game loss to Yeshiva (74-40)
* Tommy Lotito was the lone Valiant to receive All-Conference honors as a first team All-Skyline selection
* Lotitio leads Manhattanville with 11.8 points per game while registering 17 games with double-digit scoring
* With an average of 63.4 points allowed per game, the Valiants rank 26th in all of NCAA Division III

Series History:

* This is the first-ever meeting between Penn State Behrend and Manhattanville
