WASHINGTON, Pa. - The Penn State Behrend men's water polo team dropped two games on Saturday. The Lions fell to Salem 20-9 before being defeated by Washington and Jefferson, 12-10.
In game one against Salem, Behrend fell behind early and could not overcome a fast start by the Tigers.
Adam Glick (Bonita, CA/Bonita Vista), and Ali Khan (Lake Zurich, IL/Stevenson) led the Lions with two goals each. Jake DesRoches (Fairfax, VA/WT Woodson), Wes Atkinson (Camarillo, CA/Rio Mesa), Justin Vink (Los Angeles, CA/Granada Hills Charter), and Hasan Khan (Lake Zurich, IL/Stevenson) all contributed one goal. Ty Elder (Brentwood, CA/Heritage) made 11 saves in net.
In a thrilling game two, Ali Khan led the offense again. The senior netted five goals. Glick chipped in two more with Kody Veit (Harleysville, PA/Souderton), Victor Nguyen (San Jose, CA/Evergreen Valley), and DesRoches each scoring once. Elder made nine saves between the pipes.
The Lions will be back in action Friday to host Notre Dame College at 7 p.m.
