ERIE, Pa. – Four Penn State Behrend men's water polo players were selected as Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) All-Academic Scholar Athletes for the 2017 season.
Senior Kyle Frerichs (Sellersville, PA/Pennridge), juniors Troy Valkusky (Drifton, PA/Hazleton) and Cameron Makin (Pittsburgh, PA/North Allegheny), and sophomore Mike Geary (Erie, PA/Mercyhurst Prep) were recognized for their accomplishments outside of the pool.
To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must attain a cumulative grade point average of 3.00 or better, must be at least a sophomore academically, the athlete must have completed one full academic year at the institution prior to the season, and must have completed in fifty percent or more of the competition in his or her respective sport.
