Water Polo Raises Funds for American Cancer Society

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's and women's water polo teams participated in and helped raise money for the American Cancer Society fundraiser, Relay For Life, on Saturday night in Junker Center.

Relay For Life is the signature fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. Relay is staffed and coordinated by volunteers in more than 5,200 communities and 27 countries. Volunteers give of their time and effort because they believe it's time to take action against cancer.

This year, 16 teams and 111 participants signed up to help raise more than $411 at this event, hosted at Behrend in collaboration with Mercyhurst University. Teams took on games such as ping pong, bean bag toss, and nerf gun wars, while Mackenzie Tristian, daughter of head coach Joe Tristian, walked the most laps with 93 (10 miles) from 6 p.m. to midnight.
