Behrend Women's Tennis Heads to W&L for NCAA Tournament; Lions Face York (PA)

LEXINGTON, Va. – The Penn State Behrend women's tennis team will be making its fifth overall appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament this weekend. The Lions will travel to Lexington, Virginia and Washington & Lee University to face York (PA) on Friday at 9 a.m. in first-round action.

The Lions (6-2) earned the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference's (AMCC) automatic bid into the 42-team tournament after winning their 14th conference title. Behrend defeated Pitt-Greensburg 5-4 to advance to the NCAA Championships.

The Spartans (10-1) claimed their first-ever Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth title and will be making their first appearance at the NCAA Tournament. York has won eight in a row, including a 5-4 victory over Lebanon Valley in the MAC Championships

The teams will play a single-elimination tournament with the first three rounds played at Washington & Lee University.
