Behrend Splits On Day Two of Allegheny Invitational

MEADVILLE, Pa. – Stefanie Kelley (Moon Township, PA/Moon) had 23 digs and 16 kills in two matches to help the Penn State Behrend women's volleyball team split two matches on the second day of the Allegheny Gator Invitational on Saturday.

The Lions defeated AMCC opponent Pitt-Greensburg 25-22, 25-9 and 25-20, before falling to former conference foe Frostburg State, 3-0 (25-19, 25-23, 25-20). Kelley was named to the All-Tournament Team for the second time this season.

Kelley Treser (Pittsburgh, PA/Seneca Valley) paced Behrend against the Bobcats with 10 kills and three blocks. Jessica Woods (Corry, PA/Corry) made six kills and four blocks, while Brittany Dhayer (Georgetown, PA/South Side) added nine digs and three aces for the win.

Against Frostburg State, Kelley had a double-double with 12 digs and 10 kills. Alyssa Pears (Meadville, PA/Meadville) tied a team-best 13 digs and eight kills. Katy Vicini (Rural Valley, PA/West Shamokin) also had 13 digs and Sarah Jacobs (Cochranton, PA/Cochranton) tallied five kills.

Behrend returns to action on Tuesday at Chatham. Match begins a 7 p.m.
