Lions Fall to Penn State Altoona

ALTOONA, Pa. – The Penn State Altoona women's volleyball team remained undefeated in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) play with a 3-1 win over the Penn State Behrend Lions on Saturday.

The Behrend Lions (7-13, 0-2 AMCC) had the momentum going after winning the first set 25-17, but Altoona put a stop to that and won the next three sets, 25-16, 25-13 and 25-20.

Mary Sperry (Atlantic, PA/Conneaut Lake) had a double-double with 16 kills and 14 digs to go with one ace and one block. Brittany Dhayer (Georgetown, PA/South Side) tied Sperry with 14 digs and two kills, while Stefanie Kelley (Moon Township, PA/Moon) led the defense with 17 digs.

Sarah Jacobs (Cochranton, PA/Cochranton) was able to contribute four kills, three blocks and one ace.

The Lions return to action on Tuesday against Hilbert in the Junker Center. Match time is 1 p.m.
