Lions Clinch No. 4 Seed for AMCC Tournament

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's volleyball team clinched the No. 4 seed for the upcoming Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Tournament with a 3-0 win over Mt. Aloysius on Saturday afternoon.

The Lions (14-15, 6-3 AMCC) defeated the Mounties (10-16, 4-4 AMCC) for the ninth consecutive time, each by scores of 3-0 including today 25-12, 25-19 and 25-14.

Stefanie Kelley (Moon Township, PA/Moon), the current AMCC Player of the Week, helped Behrend capture their 80th win during her four-year career to help celebrate senior day. The lone senior posted 13 digs and one ace in her final regular season match in the Junker Center.

Mary Sperry (Atlantic, PA/Conneaut Lake) tallied 10 kills and nine digs, while Catherine Healy (Connellsville, PA/Connellsville) had seven kills and three blocks.

Jessica Woods (Corry, PA/Corry) added six kills and five blocks. Chelsea Magnusen (Plum, PA/Plum) was the go-to player with 28 assists to go with eight digs and three kills.  

The Lions will host No. 5 Franciscan on Tuesday night in the first round of the AMCC Tournament. Match time is 7 p.m.
