STUEBENVILLE, Ohio – Stefanie Kelley (Moon Township, PA/Moon) recorded 14 kills and 16 digs, while coming up big at crucial points to lead Penn State Behrend past Franciscan 3-0 in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) play on Saturday.
The Lions (13-14, 5-2 AMCC) swept the Barons in three sets, winning 25-21, 25-19 and 25-20. Kelley had five straight kills in game two for points 16-20 to help Behrend go ahead 2-0. She also had an ace late in game three to secure the match for the Lions.
Chelsea Magnusen (Plum, PA/Plum) handed out 35 assists and posted nine digs, while Sperry led with 22 digs to go with eight kills. Brittany Dhayer (Georgetown, PA/South Side) also contributed defensively with 15 digs and Alyssa Pears (Meadville, PA/Meadville) had a round-about day with five kills, five digs, two blocks and two aces.
Jessica Woods (Corry, PA/Corry) contributed six kills in the win.
Behrend returns to action on Wednesday at Medaille. Match time is 7 p.m.
