Snyder, Ramsey Named AMCC Athletes of the Week

ERIE, Pa. – Juniors Meredith Snyder (Parker, PA/Allegheny Clarion Valley) and Rachel Ramsey (North Versailles, PA/East Allegheny) were chosen Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Athletes of the Week, announced on Tuesday.

Snyder, an outside hitter for the women’s volleyball team, led the Lions to a 2-2 record over the weekend. In four matches, she totaled 42 kills, 22 digs, eight blocks and seven aces. She averaged 2.80 kills per set. In the wins over Houghton and Gordon, she hit .348 and tallied double-digit kills in each match (15,14). Snyder was also named the Behrend Athlete of the Week.

In women’s cross country, Ramsey paced the squad with a seventh-place finish at the Westminster Invitational on Friday night. The junior transfer crossed the finish line in 24.22.90 for the 6K course for first on the team and in the Top 10. Ramsey was also the top AMCC Runner in the meet with three other schools participating (Franciscan, Altoona, La Roche).
