Three Named to All-AMCC Women's Volleyball Team

ERIE, Pa. – Senior Lindsay Bean (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf), senior Courtney Hopson (Erie, PA/McDowell) and sophomore Hannah Saunders (Elizabeth, PA/Elizabeth Forward) have been named to the 2015 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) women's volleyball team, announced on Thursday.

Bean got her second nod on the All-Conference second team, while Hopson and Saunders were selected to the third team.

Bean returned to the starting lineup after sitting out the latter part of last season with a knee injury to earn all-conference honors. She ranked second on the team with 174 kills, averaging 1.89 per set. Bean led the squad with 45 blocks on the year putting her ninth in the record books for career blocks with 189. She recorded double-digit kills in seven matches, including a season-best 14 against Defiance.

In her final year, Hopson garnered her first all-conference accolades on the third team. The libero led the team with 520 digs and third in the conference with 5.05 digs per set.  Hopson tallied double-digit digs in every match and posted a team-best 43 aces. She also had a career-high seven aces against Mt. Aloysius and career-high 36 digs in the season finale vs. Franciscan. Hopson finished her career with 1,469 digs to tie for eighth all-time in the record books.

Saunders is a repeat all-conference selection after being named to the third team a year ago. The sophomore led the team and ranked third in the conference in assists (780). Saunders also tallied 182 digs (fourth best on team) along with 31 blocks and 15 aces. She recorded five double-doubles this season and registered a career-high 47 assists in a 3-1 win over Gordon.
