Women's Track and Field Competes at Spire Invitational

GENEVA, Oh. – Paige Allen (Butler, PA/Butler) qualified for ECAC's in the 60 meter dash as the Penn State Behrend women's track and field team competed at Spire on Saturday. Allen posted a time of 8.03 and finished second only to a professional runner.

Allen also had an impressive showing in the 200 meter dash finishing 10th out of 53 runners. She carded a time of 26.44.

Maura Costa (Pittsburgh, PA/Baldwin) took seventh place in the pole vault competition recording a distance of 2.75m. In the triple jump Abbi Papale (Erie, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) took fifth place with a distance of 9.14m.

Competing in the 400 meter run, Abby Gilmore (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) tallied a 26th place finish out of 40 competitors. Gilmore finished with a time of 2:39.69.

Kati Piger (Williamsport, PA/Loyalsock) lunged to an eighth place finish in the long jump. She posted a distance of 4.88m. Notching a time of 11:47.42, Katie Manno (Erie, PA/McDowell) took 31st place in the 3000m run.

The Lions will see action for the third straight weekend next Saturday as they travel to the state of New York for the Ithaca Invitational. Events will begin at 10 a.m.
