Women's Track and Field Takes Behrend Invitational

ERIE, Pa. – Finishing with 126 points, the Penn State Behrend women's track and field team won the Penn State Behrend Invitational for the third straight year. The win was the team's first of the season.

Paige Allen (Butler, PA/Butler) headlined the day breaking two meet records in the 100m dash and the 100m hurdles, as well as picking up three victories. Allen's winning time of 12.52 in the 100m dash broke the meet record and qualified for ECAC's. Her time of 15.83 in the 100m hurdle was good for first place along with a new meet record. She also won the 200m dash with a time of 26.27.

Abby Gilmore (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) added a victory in the 800m run. She clocked in at a time of 2:38.46.

Maura Costa (Pittsburgh, PA/Baldwin) and Ella Danylko (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) placed in the top two spots in the pole vault. Costa posted a mark of 9' 3" while Danylko tallied 8' 9".

In the long jump Kati Piger (Williamsport, PA/Loyalsock) picked up the win while Allen took second place. Piger's mark of 15' 11" topped Allen's jump of 15' 8.25".

Posting a 31' 11.50", Abbi Papale (Erie, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) took first place in the triple jump.

The Lions will look for their second straight victory next weekend at the Grove City Invitational. The meet begins Friday with events starting at 4 p.m.
