Women's Track and Field Takes Three Events at Westminster

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's track and field team finished second out of three teams at Westminster posting a team score of 95. The Lions took first in three events.

Paige Allen (Butler, PA/Butler) highlighted the Behrend squad picking up two victories in the 100m dash and the 200m dash. Allen posted a mark of 13.06 in the 100m and 27:09 in the 200m.

Kati Piger (Williamsport, PA/Loyalsock) followed Allen in the 200m dash posting of a time of 30:28, good for second place.

In the triple jump, Abbi Papale (Erie, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) took first place hopping to a mark of 9.45m.

Rachel Pell (Elizabeth, PA/Elizabeth Forward) tallied a time of 1:14.29 in the 400m hurdle. Pell finished in second place. She also finished fourth in the 100m hurdles with a time of 18.82.

Competing in the 400m dash, Abby Gilmore (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) provided a third place finish. Gilmore sprinted to a mark of 1:07.67.

Piger and Papale took third and fourth place respectively in the long jump. Piger notched a mark of 4.66m while Papale put up 4.46m.

The Lions will return to action next weekend at Carnegie Mellon. Events will begin at 10 a.m.
