Allen Breaks Two School Records, Notches Two First Place Finishes

GAMBIER, Oh. – Paige Allen (Butler, PA/Butler) broke two school records earning victories in the 60m dash and the 200m dash to lead the Penn State Behrend women's track and field team Saturday afternoon at the Kenyon Invitational.

Allen improved her times from the previous week in both events. In the 60m dash she posted a time of 7.79 and ran a 25.80 in the 200m dash. Her 60 meter dash mark is a Top Ten time in the nation.

Katie Manno (Erie, PA/McDowell) picked up the victory in the 5,000m run to give the Lions three total on the day. Manno won the event finishing with a time of 19:54.51.

Abbi Papale (Erie, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) had a strong day with two top ten finishes. She took seventh in the triple jump with a mark of 9.66m. She also placed tenth in the long jump leaping 4.52m.

In the 400m dash Abby Gilmore (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) notched a sixth place finish running for a time of 1:06.33. Maura Costa (Pittsburgh, PA/Baldwin) had a solid performance in the pole vault posting 2.59m. Costa earned 11th place.

After a week off the Lions travel to the ECAC Championships in New York, New York. The two-day event runs March 6-7 with both days starting at 10 a.m.
