Men's Golf Wins Hilbert Invitational; Lions Take Top Five

HAMBURG, NY  – The Penn State Behrend men's golf team captured the top five individual finishes to win the Hilbert Invitational on Friday afternoon with a team total of 311.

Matt Gurska (Hermitage, PA/Kennedy Catholic) led the Lions for the second straight invitational but this time winning the individual medalist honors with a low score of 76. In second place was Dante Vetica (Hermitage, PA/Kennedy Catholic), carding a 77 for the day.

Kevin Koerbel (Gibsonia, PA/Deer Lakes) and Zach Polanski (Erie, PA/Cathedral Prep) each shot a 79, taking third and fourth place, respectively, while Daniel Corbin (Mt. Lebanon, PA/Mt. Lebanon) came in fifth place overall with an 82 for the course.

Pitt-Bradford was second out of five teams with a 333 and Medaille followed in third with a 359 total. D'Youville placed fourth (394) and the host Hilbert was fifth (409).

The Lions return to action on Sunday at the Mt. Aloysius Invitational. Tee time is 12 p.m.
