Lions Place Seventh at Peter C. Rossin Memorial Tournament

CANONSBURG, Pa. – Dante Vetica (Hermitage, PA/Kennedy Catholic) finished tied for 11h place with a two-day score of 170 to help the Penn State Behrend men's golf team take seventh out of nine teams at the Peter C. Rossin Memorial Tournament held at Southpointe Golf Club.

The Lions fired a 361 on Sunday and a 350 today for a combined score of 711. Denison won the tournament having the first and second place golfer on its team for a total of 653. Washington & Jefferson came in second with 668 and Columbus State finished third (678).

Vetica tallied an 82 on day one and an 88 this afternoon to end with a 170 to tie for 11th overall. Alec Italiano (Greensburg, PA/Hempfield) scored a 176 for 36 holes, carding a 92 yesterday and managing to take eight strokes off for an 84 today. He finished 24th overall.

Kevin Koerbel (Gibsonia, PA/Deer Lakes) placed 29th individually with a 179 total. He fired a 93 and then an 86 for the course. Dan Corbin (Mt. Lebanon, PA/Mt. Lebanon) was fourth on the team and 38th overall with a 94-92 to get 186.

Zach Polanski (Erie, PA/Cathedral Prep) tallied a 103 on day one and 95 today for a 198 for the tournament.
